180g for sale

A couple at work I know are splitting up and they have a 180 with two or three 175w metal halide light fixtures they had over it and some DIY stand that needed some major work. They asked me to let the group know they want $500 for it. Longer they go without selling it, the lower they'll go, I wager. Let me know if anyone wants more details - I'll get your contact information to them.

Well, let me try to phrase right... I would try to lower the price and not get the stand from the little I saw it. Granted, it was in its construction phase when I saw it, but I was unimpressed with the stand - and I have seen and LEARNED FROM a LOT of "Sanford & Son Style" aquariums (mine included, of course). I'd offer a smidge less and just walk away with the tank and the 2 or 3 lights - and whatever else looks useful that was in the setup and be happy. I'm sure that you could make or have someone make a VERY NICE stand for you for cheap.

I'm not POSITIVE, but I think he said he did - at least the canopy was... I think he did the stain work also... Nice tank, huh? I have been VERY IMPRESSED with Shaar's work - helluva dude, that Steve guy!

yeah, he gave me the deal of a lifetime on my setup. I have not seen him online here for a little while...

I think he is in Puerto Rico or the Phillipines with his g/f, fiance, old lady or whatever you'd call her! :bum: How difficult it must be for Shaar, huh? LoL

I'll ask one of them tomorrow about the dimensions. I wanna say it was 6ft by 2ft for its footprint - not sure about how tall...

I guess when it was all obtained for free...it's easy to give someone a great deal.............

I guess he did pay for the stain....

one mans junk is another mans treasure.....lol.. I was happy to pay $200.00 for it... Especially with a $100.00 overflow...

I can't get any pics - but from what they said today, it's a 3ft tall tank with a 6ft x 2ft footprint. Only ONE MH fixture as well - if anyone is still interested, shoot me a PM and I can give you a phone number.

72x24x36 That sounds like a weird 240 or something. My 225 is 72x24x30, sounds like it may be bigger than a 180. Maybe it's a 72x24x24 I think that may be a 180 but not totally sure. Not to nit-pick just wanting to know for sure.

that's cool - i think there's a tank volume calculator on the RC homepage.... I bet it's 6ftx2ftx2ft and they were just sleepy when I spoke with them :D

UPDATE: I checked the volume calculator 6ft*2ft*2ft is 179.5 gallons. I'm near positive that the footprint was 6ft*2ft from the one time I saw it.
