Gabe - I'm getting a BK SM250. Are you running an ER 12-2? I'm coming off 8 years of ER skimmers. Currently running ER RS250. I've always liked ER's but too much lurking on RC has made me want to see what it's like on the other side. Didn't have room in my stand/sump for any other high end skimmer, and can't run external, so the SM250 was my only option really, unless I modified the collection cup.

So of course, you made me go find out what you're running! lol.
I'm running an ER RS250 right now. I see you went Aqua-C to Schuran to KZ!! I was also looking at the ATB's. They were all too big for my tall sump/short stand combo
I love your tank! I remember going through your thread a while back. It's looking awesome now! And I see you're also running a T5-only tank like me. I also used to run halides. What was your reason for the switch?
The 12-2 is a big one! I had a CS8-2 on my last tank, a 240g. It was severely undersized, but it kicked b*tt, even with all the Tangs I had.
Yeah, what do you think I should ask ER for?
Haha, i was j/k about my skimmer being better, i've had lots of prob with it! Wanted to see if you were gonna go look for it, haha, and you did.
Thanks. I use to have T5s on my old tank and miss the color and growth. I'm glad i switched back to T5s, the growth is night and day.

The growth has been pretty good on my tiny little frags. Still trying to get my coral to color up better. I tried to force feed my fish for a while, and that helped contribute to a cyano bloom, so I've cut back some.
Do you miss the shimmer from the halides?
What problems are you having with the KZ? KZ owners on the ZEO forums seem happy with it.
I love your scaping, BTW And, to keep this thread OT, where do you live? SAC, Bay ARea, or shibuya???

And, to keep this thread OT, where do you live? SAC, Bay ARea, or shibuya??? I don't miss the shimmer really. I only notice it when i think about it. If you have enough swaying LPS and fish in your tank, I think you won't be paying attention to the shimmer. haha
It's skimming really well now actually but just a disappointing skimmer for the price. I've made a few complaints on the ZEO forum listing out the issues and design flaws, but kz doesn't seem to care much.
I live in all three, haha. I have a house i go back for the weekend in Elk Grove, I have an apartment in Sunnyvale (where i work sometimes), but i just relocated temporarily to Shibuya for 5 months. Confusing enough?
