BK has made a minor design change already. Notice that the interior cone now has an extension on it. This is the same extension Klaus puts on the SM200. Earlier SM250's only had the cone. Here's my SM250 - the Red Dragon pump is HUGE. Way bigger than the Eheim on my ER:

Marc, Thanks. I'm a bit nervous about the swap since my ER is working well for me. But I'm in one of those moods where if I don't try this skimmer, I'll always wonder "What if"...

Put that thing straight in water and let it start skimming I don't know about you guys, but if I paid that much for a skimmer, I'd want to see some returns ASAP. I shouldn't talk, my H&S is still in the garage.

BTW,I wonder what Sang did with his. His tank info still says that he is running his H&S

I don't do vinegar baths either. I'll let nature take its course. Sang is going to upgrade his tank to an ELOS 160XL to fully utilize his ATB Medium

I posted the following quesiton on the Royal Exclusiv forum, but let's see what you guys think. Why do you think BK put that extension on the interior cone?

Fixed! I sold my H&S to Warren. Tbone, what extension tube are you talking about?

Ahh, I see it now. Hmm, perhaps Klaus wanted the bubbles to be more concentrated (focused) up higher versus diffusing at a lower point? Not really sure what difference it makes.
