2-400w overkill for a 75g?

I would go with 2 250 unless you plan on an upgrade very soon.

Sense im getting the 2xpendant (lumenarc) and the ballast cant i just get a smalled(250w) ballast and all will be fine?

It's overkill... everyone confirmed that already. Getting new bulbs and ballasts rated for 250W would work well.

ya haha, ok so getting new 250w ballast / bulbs and ill be GTG with the lumenarc pendants? I havent got them yet, but hes charging me 225 for the 2pendants + ballast + 6 bulbs... although i wont need anything but the pendants i figure ill have the other stuff for when i upgrade. sound good?

Sounds good. Considering two new Lumenarc reflectors would cost you about $225, think of the rest as a bonus. If worse comes to worse and you need cash, you could probably sell the 400watt ballast with bulbs and make your money back.
