2 6200's and a 7095

I plan on ordering shortly, and what do you think on the 2 on a 180 gallon central overflow with ssb. I want a ton of surface aggitation i figured one up higher that the other in opposing corners facing to the center front glass so it will have a upper current and a lower current.
I will have 1500 gph coming from my returns in addition to the tunze's so i guess i could fool around with that for surface aggitation..
I have a somewhat mixed reef with sps and acans/micros no torches or the likes just the occaisional lord/micro/zoanthid.
The 2 6000's i had didnt cut it, and there were alot of stagnant spots. I want kick azz flow, But not blow the skin off my sps.
I think this would atleast give me what i want and if its overkill i can always reduce flow via the multicontroller.
Whats your take on placement to get the best all around flow?

Why not just upgrade the 2 6000's to 6100's? The 6200's really aren't much more flow reach or force than a 6100, they just have a broader flow and your tank is not really wide enough to make use of it. Most people are pleased with 2 6100's in a 180 and I can't see any reason to use more given the mix of animals you keep.

Really? I thought the 6200's would have a stronger flow since its 2000gph more than the 6100.
Hmmm well i thought that teh 6200's were what i wanted and knew it would be better to sell the 6000's than upgrade them to the 6200's.
Well too late i sold them pretty much what i payed so i am not that bummed.
Thats another option i guess maybe 2-3 6100. Hmmm
Now i am thinking, and thats dangerous. LOL

Well, the 6200 creates more flow but the outlet is 2.5" instead of 2" so it is just a broader flow 7ft by 30" and the 6100 is 7ft by 24".

So if i get the 6100 i am going to get the same thruput as the 6200?

It will pump more water but it won't be that noticable. It pumps the volume it is rated at but it is designed for wide tanks. We get in 6100's every week but generally only get ahead of demand by about a day or two on rare occasion, you would need to preorder.

Thats what i did something fishey told me it would be 3 weeks wait. I didnt see the link below stating that some place had them in stock. Argghhh oh well i guess i have to wait it out.

I am sure they will take preorders as the date gets closer but the tentative date is late Spetember for the synchronous models and December for the controllable model so we are still a ways away and we have never been on time yet

Well that wasnt that long of a wait they are on their way.
Got the magnets this time. The brackets that come with them are a pita, But the pumps rock.
I really liked the moon light on the 7095, But wish there were add ons because it doesent quite cover a 6 foot tank.

If you put it at a very gentle downward angle centered on the end of the tank it should give you a good effect.

Roger, since my tank is 48" wide 2 tunze 6200 will work great if i put one on each corner and the other two on the front right?

I just got done messing with mine and they are alot more flow than the 6000's I am sorry i gave up, and wanted to skip the 6100 to 6200.

I have a fully loaded sps lps tank with lots of acans , chalices, blastos,clams,zoos,echnos and more .

I might be cazy but my reef seems to get healthier with the more flow I add.

In my 180 BB 6x2x2 I have 2x6200's 3x6100's and I just added a wave box . Flow is insane and my tanks health is a testament.

Thanks clkwrk! I am still deciding if i want 2 more 6100's or 2 nano streams. Probably 2 of each LOL the nano's will go in a frag tank though and add the 6100, or maybe 6000's
I cant go bare bottom, I do think the tanks look good, But i love the sand, My tank is getting new black arag sand from seachem.
Its alot bigger than southdown so i dont think it will move around much. I agree with the flow though, I like more and pressing the envelope. LOL It does keep everything tidy and healthy.
