Have you tried using a computer fan for a possible prop on a power head ?

hmm...... steve i am brining a bigger modded "tunze" pump in today, we can look at it.

i think you would need a big pump though. they have eight blades right? mabe if you cut that down to 4 ............ i will bring a fan in to i guess, and we can play with it

It's just the prop - you mount it to the impeller with a carbon fiber rod.

The benefit of a Tunze prop would be that it's engineered with the correct pitch to get the max flow. If the Maxijet and Tunze have the same RPM (1725?) then the flow rate should be the same. A prop for a RC boat is probably engineered for fewer RPMs so it won't be as effeicient.

Someone would need to do some experiments and I'm nominating you Trottie.

You mount the prop to the MJ impeller - the tunze magnet doesn't come into play.
