2 different clowns in the same tank

I remember first joining this site and arguing that I had mixed clowns w/ success.
I was more care free/experimental, and had the "what do they know" attitude.
I remember someone saying to check back in a few months.
Sure enough, clowns matured and it was WWF in my tank!
Lets see, one dead, and two badly scarred, I was left w/ a maroon that looked like the moorish idol in Nemo!
So, trust the exp reefers as we ARE trying to help people move forward in this hobby.

Slakker- I was in no way saying to breed 2 different kinds just stating that they can co-exist in the same tank...

I do agree with not creating these hybrids as they may cause trouble down the road with other species....

If they co-exist, chances are they form a pair, and if they form a pair, it leads to breeding, which leads to hybridization. No, you don't have to raise the fry, but people will, and do.

So far it hasn't unleashed unspeakable terrors upon the world, but you never know. As long as they STAY hybrids, and those who breed hybrids are honest and responsible about it, I don't think it's that bad, as long as it doesn't get as disgusting as it has with freshwater.

However, time tested wisdom says that pairing two different species of clowns is difficult, and often results in dead animals, and hybrid problems aside, that's not worth it.
