I have a 20L being set up. I already got 1 240, should I add another on the opposite side of tank or just get 1 425?

I also have 400GPH turnover in filtration

thanks

my preference for powerheads is to do more smaller ones than fewer larger ones.

this gives me the ability to control the flow a bit better. if i end up with dead spots somewhere, i have more ability to change the setup than if i just had one hefty PH.

within reason of course. i wouldn't put 43 of the 240's in a 75 gallon. ;)

I would do two especially since they have stagnant flow you can point them a little differently to reduce dead spots. I had 2 - 425's on my 40 and added a 240 to get rid of a problem dead spot.

Looked into a gyre? Got a look at a maxspect in action and i think with a few tweeks these things are the way of the future

I personally think those nano hydor's are vastly over spec'd. I had two of the 240's on a 20L, bought one of the 425's and I honestly couldn't tell a bit of difference from the 240's. The external screen is a tad different but otherwise they flow the same IMHO.

42? maybe......:lolspin:

Several smaller ones for me too - well - 4 x Koralia 1500gph in my 120. Not a dead spot anywhere!
