2 mm pale spot, sign of ich?

Navyblue

Low maintenance first
Hello all,

I have a purple tang, bicolor angel and strawberry pseudochromis in my QT.

On the purple tang, there are lots of white spots that seems to move around everyday. Btw, my tank has lots of white dots floating around, so it probably are those particles stinking onto it.

Today, I noticed may be 4-6 2mm diameter round pale coloured spots. Is it likely what the ich has left behind after it has detached? Sorry that I can't post a picture as the pale spot does not appear on the picture, and the particles floating around the tank doesn't help either.

The bicolor angel does have one spot , but it looks different from the purple tang's, which appears more deeply entrenched. The pseudochromis does have some spots like the purple tang's at first but not anymore.

So, does ich leaves a pale coloured mark when it detached? Or it is probably just some rub marks either from the rock or fighting?

This is the best shot I can get for the pale spot, most of the time they don't even show up in picture, with or without flash. The most obvious one seems to be at the bottom of the body in the picture, but there are a few at the upper part of the body.

Hello,

what are you feeding you purple tang? He looks a little skinny.

he could be stressed if he has ich
ich does attach itself to the fish when its feeding, then it falls off to reproduce in the tank.

is there any more spots on the fish, since you posted?

I can't make out which spot on the bi-color you are talking about.

I take it these are new fish since they are in QT? or did you pull them out becuase you saw these spots?

They are new fishes, I got them for almost 2 weeks.

All of the fishes are eating my home blend seafood and formula 2 flakes voraciously. The tang and the angel also eats kelp that I clipped in there.

The spots tends to move around for the tang, sometimes more and sometimes less. The angel doesn't have much, I think there is only 1 that looker deeper entreched and doesn't move. The pseudochromis is harder to keep track.

They are all very active too.

Oh Ok, so they are picking up weight and what not.

If they are new, you probably are seeing the signs of ich. Spots moving are spots probably falling off and the fish being reinfected in the tank.

Since they are in QT, it will be easy to treat and not introduce it to the main tank.

I think I am pretty certain that they have ich. Today the pseudochromis has the unmistakable "dusting" look. The tang is clear now, and the angel shows more spots.

Anyone treated tangs and angels with Cupramine without poisoning them to death?

I treated a Arothron nigropunctatus (dog faced puffer) once for ich with seachem cupramine, they are of course scaleless fish and he did very well with the treatment.

Also test the level of copper in the water, both for correct dosing (therapeutic level) and to make sure its not to high esc..
