So i ordered a new batch of 2 part, but i accidentally ordered sodium bicarbonate, and not sodium carbonate(which ive been using). now i know that there are differences between the two, im mainly concerned about how much more im gonna have to dose and since it lowers PH, that i should dose during the day now? any help would be great thanks

You could bake the sodium bicarbonate at 300+ degrees for 1+ hours, which would release H2O and turn it into sodium carbonate.

I agree with baking it. generally left as is you would have to dose about twice as much as you have been

you basically purchased houshold baking soda
+1 on having to dose 2X as much to get the same result but it could be beneficial in high PH tanks as unbaked baking soda lowers PH.

I would just bake what you need to make a single batch. From what I understand, unless it's kept air tight, soda ash can absorb H2O again in storage.

300 for an hour is what is in the Randy Holmes 2 part recipe, but you can go higher temp for a longer period. Over baking doesn't hurt it, but under baking may not remove all of the H2O.
