Has anyone ever used a 2 speed spa pump to create a surge? I'm brainstorming the plumbing on a big reef (520gal.) with a 250gal. refugium in basement. Thought this might keep the powerheads to a min.
I know there have been some people that have used them, the big down side is power. Most of the 2 speed pumps are pool or spa pumps and take a lot of power.
