2 tangs in a 125?

Ordering a 125ish gallon, 60x24x21.5" tank. Do you think I could have a Powder Blue and Yellow tang in there, or will they not play nice?

Should be alright. Depends on the temperament of the individuals whether or not they get along but there should be enough space in there.

I'd probably pass on the Powder Blue tang, but like mentioned above it can work. A Yellow tang and a Yellow Eyed Kole tang would be a better option IMO. The colors of these two fish really compliment each other and they don't get very big either.

Nope.
Get EITHER the Powder Blue OR the Yellow. Both - then you may have a turf war on your hands.
FYI - the Powder BROWN Tang you also may want to consider. Gorgeous fish, but mellower in temperment than the Powder Blue.

I think two tangs could potentially work in that tank. I don't like the powder blue for that tank size, however.

Ok, thanks for all of the feedback. I may just try the powder brown alone, I am not one to push the envelope on these animals in our little captive environments.

What about a Chevron Tang and a (Hippo, Goldrim, or Achiilles Tang). Those are some beautiful fish, but what ever you do try to quarantine. Introduce at the same time and that can definitely help with aggression. Not enough time for anyone to determine stomping grown.

Do not get neither of these tangs, except for the Goldrim (fits the tank size). The other ones are at least a 180 or bigger. Achilles should have a 300, IMO. In a 125, if it is 6 footer, you probably could do 2 of these tangs in there together. Kole, Tomini, Yellow, Purple, Goldrim, Chocolate/Lemonpeel Mimic Tang, Lavender, Convict. I would not choose from the same species.

I’m not contradicting any of the other posters, all of whom obviously have more experience than I.

7yrs ago, I very stupidly set up a 150g tall w a Hippo T, Yellow T, & Foxface. They have survived and thrived, but they’re getting *big*. The Foxface is 6”, Hippo 5”+, Yellow 4.5”+.

I believe the only reason they’ve made it so far is bc there is a *lot* of rock in the tank where they can hide and de-stress if needed. Also, they’re well fed.

I’m really attached to my ‘Terrible Trio’, and now, w 20/20 hindsight, I wish I hadn’t done this: sooner or later (probably sooner) one (or TWO) will have to go. Where? I have NO IDEA. :-(

I’m glad you’re smarter than me, @Chicagoreef2016.
