2-Weeks Long Enough For QT

I have had my Cirrihilbrus Labouti for almost 2 weeks that I got from LiveAquaria. He arrived at my house in very good condition and I let him settled in the first day. As of day 2 he has been eating very well on PE mysis shrimp, brine shrimp and NLS pellets. He is acting very healthy and energetic. He has been in my 20 gal QT tank that is treated with CopperSafe. In 4 more days it will be 2 weeks, and if he continually does good will it be safe to put him in my 75 gal fowlr tank or should I wait another week? I know the stickies says 2-4 weeks.

I would treat for a total of 3 weeks and test daily to make sure the dosage is always in the therapeutic level. After that observe for another two weeks to make sure there are no other diseases, and then it should be safe to put him into the DT.

So that makes it 5 weeks total.

I would treat for a minimum of 4 weeks, closer to 6 for me. Not worth risking the lives of your other fish.

I agree with both of the above; 5-6 weeks minimum. I'd read the ich stickies at the top of this forum section. Understanding the life-cycle of parasites will make it clear that 2 weeks isn't enough time to prevent them. Fish do very well in a QT; no harassment, food competitors, bullies, etc. There is no reason to rush; other that our natural desire to see fish in the DT. Having to tear apart a tank to remove fish because of a parasite outbreak will solve the "can't wait'' syndrome that we've all experienced.
