My tank is a 40" x 24" x 30" tall tank and mostly SPS with softy. I'm thinking to get the Steam 6000 for some wave action, is the 2 steam 6000 too much for my tank?

Thanks

I understand more flow is better for SPS but since my tank is only 40" in length, I'm concern about too much current will disturb my DSB :(
thanks

I hear ya about the sand storms.
I'm working on a 60" long 110g and will have ampmaster 3000 on a closed loop and a ampmaster 2700 for the return pump.

As long as the pumps blow the length of the tank I really see no problem. I have successfully used one a 36"*18"*21" tank. You can dial down the flow if needed. The tank I used it on has a 3" sandbed of 2-3mm grain size sand. If it is fine sugar sand this would present a problem.

Your tank is very deep and quite wide. I think the flow would be good as the tank dimensions will not channel the flow to create to much force.
