A little while ago I was looking on the forums of how to get a more stable kh level and an I had an idea. I dose 1.25 ml of kh powder every day into my tank but the problem is that it isn't a very stable way to dose and my corals aren't as happy as they could be. I don't want to spend another 3-4 hundred dollars on a dosing pump so so I took a aqualifter dosing pump and hooked it up to my digital aquatics lite controller. I started to program on the multi-timer mode and it was too complicated. I ended up hooking the pump up to wavemaker mode. I want to dose my kh solution 24 times a day. I did the math of how much liquid I should dose and figured out that i should run the pump 43 seconds every hour.
wavemaker A- 00:43
Wavemaker B-59:17
I run the pump 10 minutes and 32 seconds each day which is about 1500 ml. After a couple days of running this setup, i figured out that the solution stays balanced for only 3-5 days so every 3 days I swap the solution out and the tank hasn't swayed levels for almost 2 weeks now!
