hey guys I have a 20long with 2 65watt PC. I'm adding one more and replacing the old bulbs. What combo would everybody recomend the new fixture comes with a 10k 50/50. What do y'all think?

Keeping what? SPS, LPS, FO? If you're happy with the current bulbs, I'd just replace them with similar.

Honestly, you're not getting much feedback because not a lot of people utilize PC anymore. Even on smaller tanks, many will use either a very low wattage MH (i.e. 70) or go to a small T5 setup... especially if they keep corals. It's also somewhat of an irregular sized tank (30 x 12 x 12 by most manufactures).

There are a number of T5 possibilities, depending on how fancy or how much money you want to spend. If you're planning to replace bulbs AND add more light, it might be time to look at the alternatives... just a thought.

Just a few things from one of RC's sponsors (many carry lighting specific items):

I use this on my fragswap and coral quarantine tank(s) (2x24), good price, cheap reflectors.

30" (4x24), kind of expensive

Thanks for the info I think I'll upgrade. I keep mainly zoas right now but I would like to get some leathers soon. It would cost less to get the first unit listed than new bulbs.....lol. Do you know if they come with the bulbs or not?

on my 20l i used 4x24 watts with no problems. yes, they come with bulbs, they are not great bulbs but they come with them. at first i i had 2x24 but i got into some harder corals and sps. i just added another fixture to it, look like hell but it worked, and it was cheaper to buy 2 fixtures than one bigger one

2x24 will work for zoos and leathers, anything light demanding ur gonna have to step up. check out www.catalinaaquarium.com

Quality unit. Decent quality reflectors, really.

Includes bulbs. 1 - 10k bulb and 1 - 460nm Actinic bulb.

I have 2x 20" 72w over my 14g.

That's more than enough light for half of the LPS's out there, all softies and zoa's.

For the price, you can't beat it.

if i understand correctly, that you are choosing new pc bulbs, i would check out the UVL PC-R bulbs. they have internal reflectors that make them a bit better, and they come in some nice color temps, not just 10k and actinic like the current bulbs. reefgeek carries them if you can't find them anywhere else.

He want's to "upgrade". I would assume that means to T5HO.

Sounds great. One of mybulbs just burnt out (7 months old). So I think I'll just order this and maybe another one in Octoberish. I'm looking forward to the new unit.

It's a quality unit. At least the reflectors and bulbs are "good". I doubt the ballast is half as good as one costing 4x as much, but you can't have it all for $60.

Quality reflectors + bulbs is all you can ask for in a $60 unit. And Current delivers.
