$20, mated filefish, majano

Literally the best $20 I have ever spent on my tank. Within an hour of placing this guy in the tank, I have seen him eat mysis and mow down majanos. Has yet to go at aptasia yet, but I've seen him eat bout 7 majanos so far.

Just a success story for those who are interested.

Well I saw it eat mysis today as well...if it starts turning on the corals Ill just take it out and either give it to another reefer for their problem or take it to a trusted LFS.

Sadly, they are well know to destroy other corals too. Notably zoas and acans.

Then again, I assume you mean Acreichthys tomentosus.

Yes..that is the filefish. I've seen him pick at a duncan...which im getting rid of...and nothing else so far. I have a couple zoa's...but nothing I cant live without. No acans.

I cant speak about this fish in a full blown reef and I sure it would nip something but these guys are just an awesome fish and mine have really done a job on the aiptasia. I have two females (I think) in my 180 and its really cool to see them interact with each other.

I tried one for aiptasia control.

Put him in at 9PM after lights out. The next morning my purple/orange brain coral was 1/2 eaten.

Back to the store he went lol.

I picked one up for my 29g. He is an awesome, peaceful addition to the tank and his eaten literally hundreds of aiptasia. He has nipped at some GSP but its not much of a loss.
