This seems unusual. Would you please explain the reasoning for the design of the sand bed this way?

The sand bed closed to glass is keep in empty, maybe we will try Garden Eel in this area, so the sband bed is more deep

Thanks, now we have four 400W metal halide (XM 10000K) as supplement, sunshine in Beijing in winter is not powerfull enough , but we do not know how about it in summer.

The entire house is build with the pool, the location and direction is design to maximize the usage of sunshine, so I think reflectors could not help much for this setup.

so actually the house is built for the pool, not the pool built for the house ?

Welles, first of all, great tank!

Next thing you'll need, is to get a DSLR camera, the current camera you're using isn't nearly doing justise for this tank!

Also, how are you going to supplement the blue light into this tank? Being lit by sunlight is a good idea, but the water isn't deep enough to create the real "blue" look in the ocean, so I think blue light need to be added to improve the overall apperance of the tank.
