Just nitpicking but you might want to consider altering the height of a couple of those pillars. It doesn't look very random with them staggered evenly about the tank, all the same height.

I doubt it will screw up your cycle at all. You have to do it anyway or you will get a horrible HA outbreak. Last time I had a split my 24"+ GBTA split into three parts!
