2000g System overview

What all is hooked up and online now ? IE: The cistrern, sump, main tank, etc ? Also, what sort of a bio load do you have currently ? I had not seen where it was done cycling, is that just from the live rock ? (I thought most of yours was base rock). Did I just miss an entire page in the thread somewhere ? :(

congrats on passing your test, and also on coming this far with your new tank, everything looks great :)

the part where he used NSW probably had something to do with it :)

Looks great so far. However, as others have said, you need to raise the water level. considerably. I would raise it to about 2" from the end of the neck (or begining of the riser). This would be a little bit tricky because as you raise the water level you will have more head pressure and get less air, so you will have to adjust that too. You may get an effect where the increase in air will overflow hte skimmer, but it should come back down as it re-adjusts itself. You may want to clean the skimmer well before you do this so you can out the drain line in the sump to prevent loosing a ton of water while you do this. It may take a few minutes for small adjustments at this point to settle the final level. Be patient.

Actually I did miss a page or two (or just crossed this one in my head with another one, or two, that I am following :)). I see that there are several fish, some large, that have been in the tank for a bit now, that and some LR and corals, so that would account for the protiens that the skimmer is taking out.

nice. have fun tuning it! can't wait to see it broken in and pulling lots-o-poo

congrats on passing your test. now you can make more money to pay for that bad boy :D

There is a problem with these skimmers that the pictures don't show. They produce so much bubbles that raising the water level can create to wet of foam. Each one has a sweet spot and trial and error will tell. I had a large batch of mexican turbo snails dye and spazz's skimmer litterally blew it's top off! I had to hold the top down with a container of Rowaphos. These skimmers are bubble producing monsters- to say the least.

Should had Scott put a wetneck on it :-P....

thats not an option yet. i have to make one and test it to see if it will work the right way or not. its no good to send stuff out that is not tested. maybe some time in the future. lol

nyvp, the skimmers looking good so far. the poo poo is getting thick for only 12 fish in the tank. im glad its not taking too long to break in properly. i thought it might take a month to break in. you were doing 300 gallon water changes every week so there is no real bio load there. but its doing its thing so....

when you getting some more fish in that awesome tank?

Rogger Castells gave me the Idea if you go to home depot its in the paint dept near the tarps I attached it to fishing line around a suction cup. This has to be by far the best way I've seen to hold the nori. I never have to put my hands in the tank to change it.

The guys at coral reef farm hooked me up

we will see if he behaves himself.

I will get some a Picasso pr for it

.

The tank looks great and will only get better as you keep adding your choice of corals, thank you sharing it with us.
