2000g System overview

LOL that was cute the little girly wondering where you were :D

i'd say raise the water up some. seems to still be breaking way to low. i realize it is breaking in and you are taking it slow but i'd raise ti up to at least the neck!

I just spent the last hour and a half (in between watching USC destroy Michigan in the Rose Bowl) reading about your tank.

A great feat. Excellent design work and construction. Will watch to see it progress in the months to come!

Lunchbucket-
I agree just raised it up another 2 inches we will see what that does.

Thank you so much for the complements. I appreciate the time you took to read.

skimmer vid is nice and that naso has some really great color! What a nice specimen!

and BTW, my PLTA is doing fine although acting like an animal...I caught it riding around in the currents a couple days ago like it was at an amusement park. I haven't fed it yet but may try tonight.I'll get a nice split out of it I am sure. :)

not yet. It may be my bio load isn't large enough yet (20 fish in 1k gallons)? I'm also having a return pump problem, so I've had to redial in the skimmer with the change of my return/overflow change. Hopefully the new pump should be here on monday.

Are you atleast getting 3-4 cups of skimmate a day yet?

I just saw his system last weekend. With the bioload he has there and the size of the system, mostly very small fish like anthias and chromis, I would be amazed if he was making 1 cup her week!! Give it time.

How do you explain to your wife that you are watching internet videos of little bubbles and poop?

sometimes I wonder if my wife's eyes will stall out rolled back into her head, and not come back to the front...

My friend was using the computer at his office to watch videos of maxi-jet mods in action. Shortly after that the computer crashed for another user and the guy screamed "Brian!! What were you doing on this computer??" More embarassing than having to admit to searching for porn, my friend had to stammer out, "I was watching... videos of... modified aquarium pumps."

goldfish

If you have any visitors, they will think those are goldfish. They look exactly like comet goldfish. What about some prettier saltwater fish like angels, tangs.

inside of you tank has come along very well! great job! i've been following for a couple months

what's the ETA on the cabinetry and what's it going to be?

cabinetry coming ...good question...have to ask wife about deciding what color she wants. Shes now talking about not doing it the color of the kitchen but the color of the room....who knows.. Thanks for the rest.

wow, you went gonzo with the corals. Very nice and I trust you dipped those bad boys yeah? I will be interested to see how you do with the plate coral as from what I understand, and my own experience, they are hard to keep. :)

how is the skimmer doing ? Have you gotten it "dialed in" ? Is it "stripping the salt out of the water" as one poster suggested it would ? :D (yea, I know, that isn't technically possible, but it was a great comment none the less :)).

Skimmer is stripping the water well. So far all ammonia ect at 0 and ph steady at 8.2 calc with recent start of dripping Kalk nightly i'm staying at 400 ish. Need to set up my reactor soon.
Went to the extreme for a while and was wet skimming for about 3 gallons a day now at shy of one gallon murky.
