2001 Oceanic Tank (125 Gallon) - Tempered Bottom?

So, internal c2c box with an external box? I'm trying to understand what's going on here. Also, why glass? Do you feel it was any easier?

Or an internal box, with no external box, just plumbing coming out the back of the tank...have to drill the tank either way...

My tank was already drilled so instead of risking it, I installed an external box. If I could have, I would have done just the internal box like Uncleof6 recommends.

With regards to material, I recommend using the same as the tank; glass to glass, acrylic to acrylic. It results in the best bonding.

Well, that makes sense. I suppose I should find a place in town to buy glass from now. What did you do about hiding the plumbing since you couldn't get a colored sheet of glass? My stand is pretty high, so it'd all be visible. Just use some black krylon fusion?

Also, just to be clear on sizing. I've got bulkheads for 4x 1" and 4x 3/4" holes. So, for 2 full bean animal setups in a c2c overflow, that's 2x 1" pipes for the high and low flow, 3/4" refill, and a 3/4" emergency drain. 2 of those setups on each side of the tank. Does that seem adequate?

I am not really sure what you are talking about here, however, dual BeanAnimal setups is a waste of time. You only need one, utilizing three 1" bulkheads. Two setups will be rather difficult to balance, and if you are running more than what one setup will handle you are flowing too much...even with my "tons of flow" concepts, anything more than 1200 gph will be unnecessary.... You have a lot of holes that are going to need plugging....as far as hiding plumbing, I would be more interested in performance rather than aesthetics, black pvc (available in 1") will disappear.

I painted the back of the tank after I had installed the external box. That way the only plumbing I can see is what is inside the overflow and at this point the coralline algae has totally covered it, making the plumbing very hard to see if you aren't paying attention to it. If you did black pvc as Uncleof6 suggests, I doubt you will notice it for very long.

Given that my DC6000 return pump is running full power and I still have to reduce the siphon on my 1" plumbing, there is no reason to complicate the setup. A c2c overflow box with three 1" drains in a BeanAnimal configuration is plenty.
