2009 All Ohio CORA Frag Swap - Saturday September 12th - Achbar Grotto

Hey Zeppelin, I noticed on fragswapper that it says "early bird" only get in 1 hour before door opens. So which is it, 10 or 11? I have been planning on 10 this whole month, so please don't change it to 11 now.

Its 10. We'll get that corrected. Thanks for the heads up.

We have added a nice page showcasing our attending vendors, and we are starting to list our raffle sponsors there as well. Check out the new page to see what some of the cool raffle items will be at this year's CORA All Ohio Frag Swap.

You can also purchase your early bird setup spots on the new page. Get them while there are still some available. Early bird setup gets you a larger space (1/2 table), setup 2 hours before the swap opens, and the all important electricity for your setup. Without the early bird setup, you will only be allowed in when the swap opens, will be limited to 1/3 table, and will not have electricity provided to you.

As a reminder, fragswapper is up, so head out there, sign up for the swap, and check out some of the cool stuff being posted already. We appreciate the excitement this year and look forward to helping kick off the fall reefing season with a bang. All the CORA Officers thank you for your support again this year.

Fragswapper is getting some nice stuff listed. Zoos, montis, lps, acros, etc. There are going to be some sweet corals available again this year. Be sure and get out to fragswapper and get yourself registered for the event. See everyone in a few weeks.

Built a new toy for the swap with some scrap I had. I haven't set up a tank for years, so figured I'd try something different. I'll still use fragswapper pretty heavily, so we'll see how things go.

Fragswapper continues to grow. Lots of nice stuff being posted. Dont forget to go out and signup.

Early Bird special tables are going fast. If you need electric and haven't reserved your spot, do so before the tables are gone.

We have also gotten use of the shelter house behind the main swap area. This area has 4-5 picnic tables, as well as ample room to just mingle. It will be a nice area to go when you decide to grab a bite from the kitchen, and want to sit down and relax while you eat. It will also be a nice place to just get out of the crowd and be able to talk to that reefer friend you haven't seen for awhile. The swap is generally pretty loud, and it is hard to talk. We hope you use this area to get away from the madness and catch up on what's been going on.

Ya, its pretty sweet all the stellar frags that are up. Remember, if you haven't signed up on fragswapper yet, please do so. It helps us with our count on how many people to expect.

CORA members be sure to check the home site under the 'club forums' for an important announcement.

Again, thank you all for your continued support of the Central Ohio Reef Aquarists (CORA).

Ya, there are over 400 frags listed out there. Once you are registered and on our swap page, click 'listings', then look over to the left. You can click 'last 24 hours', etc. all the way to show all listings.

Some really cool sps and zoanthids just got posted on fragswapper within the last couple days. The selection of frags this year is outstanding! I've spent waaaayyyy too much money already myself, and haven't even accounted for the gems that will be available the day of the swap.

There are still a few early bird tables available for those wanting electricity, and to be able to get themselves setup and running before the crowd begins to come in. Hurry though, because I would bet we are sold out before the day of the swap rolls around.

Update:

No vendor spots are left. We have gotten some cool raffle items for the progressive raffle. Remember, when checking the raffle table, be sure to look at what time the raffle item will be drawn. We will have hotdogs, sloppy joes, chili dogs, and chicken sandwiches available along with sodas. We have gotten use of the shelter building behind the main swap area also for those of you who want to peacefully eat out of the kaos or may just want to say HI and catch up without having to shout over the crowd. If you use this area to eat, please clean up after yourselves.

There are not many presale spots left.

***Remember, vendors and early bird swappers, 250 watts of light per 4' space is the max. If you are observed running more light, you will be unplugged. We do not want to deal with breakers blowing because someone thinks they need a 400 watt bulb over a coral at a frag swap. That much light is unnecessary. The club will be providing you 1 outlet, you must provide the extension cord and power strip. Please use only 1 outlet. Be considerate of your fellow vendors/early bird swappers. When arriving, ask a member where you will be setting up. We will have assigned spaces for all vendors and early bird swappers. Tables will also be marked with your names. Again, please be courteous and considerate of your fellow sellers when setting up. Please bring towels as YOU are responsible for cleaning up any water you spill. Your area should be left in the same condition as it was when you setup.

Thanks to EVERYONE, vendors, early bird swappers, fragswapper swappers, and all of you that are taking the time out of your day to help make this another successful All Ohio Frag Swap. CORA appreciates it.

Man this thing really snuck up on me. I am planning on being there but not as ready as I hoped to be.

I listed some stuff on fragswapper, but the pics are old, so not the actual corals, but the pics are representative.

I will try to get some new pics between now and then.
