The rut is very weird this year. I saw three nice bucks all eating in a field tonight, 30 yds from one another like "what rut?"
I have been hunting hard, just not seeing bucks during daylight hours.

Thats why I will be out bright and early... However I cant hunt all day I have work

What time are you going to be on stand? I'm trying to figure out what time to go. Generally, I hate am hunts.

Im going to ground hunt tomorrow. So I will pull into my spot at about 6:00. Its a half hour walk at least to where the natural ground blind is that I will hunt. It got light enough to shoot well before 7 this morning. I would say by 6 40 you could shoot.

hunting a ground blind tommorrow. my main goal is not getting shot. the land owner gave bubba and his buddies permission to hunt .

Going to have time to go out with the new kid this year? I think it's going to be tough for me.
I got a trail cam in the winter but haven't set it up yet. This thread reminded me I have to do that sometime soon.

I have a young cuz that hopefully hasn't ****ed of the farmer too much that allows us access to our landlocked property. He decided he needed to drive up through the planted field too many times and also left the gates open which allowed the cattle to escape...on 3 diff. occasions. :blown:

A day doesn't go by that I don't think about bowhunting at least once. I was ready months ago!

I haven't done SQUAT since my son was born. My wife knows, there is very little she can to to stop me from sitting this fall. I'm on my best behavior until then, and I'll limit my outings, but I'm going for sure!

I've been slowly saving up for a new bow. looking at the Parker Wildfire Extreme..
Shoots 310fps, comes with a lifetime warranty, 80% letoff...not the best out there but it will do the job....not to mention my wife would kill me if I spent 1,200 on a bow...LOL..

Just saw a MASSIVE 10 in velvet flanked by 2 big 8's on the way home tonight. My wife said " you look like you just saw Jesus!". Big deer for these parts. Gotta find out who owns that farm. Happy 4th.

I scouted a new place a couple days ago. Lots of land but not as many tracks as I hoped. We'll see.
