Happy Looking ToadStool. As you can see it has grown a lot over the past few weeks....

This is my 1st SPS coral. It's a type of Green Acro Frag. If this little guy does good then i plan on adding more, different colors....

Picked up this baby Plate Coral along with the Acro Frag. It's about the size of a Nickle. You can tell from the 2nd pic how small it is compared to my baby YWG. I'm also going back to pick up an orange one. The quality of the pics are bad, but these are just the 1st i've had a chance to take. These were taken as soon as i placed them in the tank. Will get better ones soon. Enjoy....

Do you have a powerhead in the tank (or plan to) or do the filters produce enough flow?

No powerhead. The two filters on the back are plenty of flow....don't like powerheads because of how much room in the tank they take up, plus they are an eyesore....

If he didn't cut the blades on the AC110. they are rated at 500gph, thats 1000gph, or 50 times tank turnover every hour. 20L is about 12" tall or so.

Dont sps need a LOT of water flow?

Yes, I have the Acro frag near the top of the tank so it can get the most light. Also if you look i have it right below the flow of the filter so it gets plenty of flow all the time.

how tall is a 20l?
30" wide x 12" tall x 12" deep.

Hey LP, I'm thinking of upgrading to 2x24W T5 over my 20G long from my 1x55/65W PC. My tank is mostly zoanthids, one kenya tree--well one big and two little ones now--and some ricordeas.

How is it when just two of your lights are on? I'm planning to use the ATI Aquablue and ATI Blue Plus bulbs under IceCap SLRs from reefgeek. I'll control the daylight bulb by wiring a switch on the hot wire so I can occasionally just have my actinic/blue bulb on.

Any thoughts on just two bulbs?

Hey,

I have 4 bulbs. Two 10K's and Two Actinics. Each are 24watts so that's about 96watts total. I have the setup in the hood where it's a 10k, then actinics, then 10k, then actinics. You get the idea. I have done this to even out the lighting. I have all the bulbs setup on different timmers. Meaning the Actinics are setup on the same timmer and the 10K's on a different timmers. The actinics come on an hour before the 10K's and after the 10Ks go off at night the actinics stay on for another hour. I believe that two bulbs on your tank meaning 1 10K and 1 Actinic would be fine. T-5's are really strong and if you have them close enough to the water then you shouldn't have a prob. keeping zoas and LPS corals. Good Luck and remember you can always have 4 bulbs. I got mine from Hellolight.com in a retrofit kit and put everything together myself. Very easy to do....

What went the 2 HOB filters? LR rubble?

In the filter on the left i have the large filter sponge and the heater. In the filter on the right i have the large filter sponge and a large bag of carbon. Also i have a little bit of Red Kelp Algae in both sides.....

I also have the sponge in my 110..how often do you rinse yours? I rinse it once a week with every water change but feel bad when i see pods getting washed away :( I will be doing the refugium mod next week..still loving the tank :D

Looks like the tank is in your bedroom. Are the filters loud? I was thinking about switching my 25g to a 29g Tall but someone told me that light may not penetrate down to the sandbed if I go for a tall and I need MH. Now that I see this set up, I'm thinking about going 29g Long if space permits...otherwise its 20g Long!
