20g Long Build

Hey, long time no post... tank still up and running? Anyway, I built my hood, although a little taller, and ordered the 2 retro kits, but I'm using tek2 reflectors instead... and I painted the inside of the hood flat white like on your 5.5 Lp. I'll post some pics of it when I get the lights installed in the hood and mounted. Thanks for the great thread
 
hey i learned alot from reading this post.. i had a 20L but then got rid of it for a 20H.... would i beable to run the 2 110 filters on the back? or will i have to just use 1?
 
why did you chose two ac110's? at 80$ each (petsmart price) or did you get them cheaper?

i almost think that for 160$, you should have much more flow. either with the tunze streams, or with closed loops.

anyways, i have a 20L with a 10 gal sump/fuge. i have a Aquaclear on one side, and another brand of powerfilter on the other end pointing at eachother. plus the return pump. i dont think this is enough flow though, and have been looking for other options.

Nope, he sold it and is now selling the 5.5gal set up.

I paid like $38 for my AC110. I think they have gone up a little since then.

Hey, everyone......

Sorry i haven't kept up with my posts. I've been really busy with school. I've broken all my tanks down and sold everything off. I wanted to start fresh from scratch. I want to get back to one tank...not 3. I still haven't figured out what i want to do so far, but i'm thinking about a 210 with double overflows. :) I'll try to answer the questions above and keep you posted with the new progress.....

I use to have:

Small Bicolor Blenny
Smally Starry Blenny
Baby Yellow Watchman Goby
Two Baby Clown Fish
Small 6-line Wrasse

Everything got along and i had no probs. what so every. Love the fish. My fav. was the Starry and Bicolor......

Hey....You would still be able to use the 2 filters as long as they fit on the back. If not you could use a 110 and then a smaller one like a 70 beside it. Would give you a little bit of a circular flow which isn't a bad thing depending on how you setup the tank...

I ordered everything from HelloLights.com

Hood was custom built....

My Clean Up Crew was:

2 baby emerald crabs
15 blue leg hermits
10 red leg hermits
couple zebra hermits
various different kinds of snails (prob. 30 total...all small)

That's about it

I got them for cheeper. Not sure how much i ended up paying for them but they were on sale when i got them. Wish i could give better info for you on your lack of flow.....Good Luck
