Hey,
I got some questions about whats going on.
First day I got everything:

What do you think of the last photo is there anything I should do about those corals or do they look like they will be okay? I dont know what is bothing them. :-/

Your corals all look closed up and pretty unhappy in those photos. Unless the lights had just come on. Like Littlefish said, test all your water parameters first, if they all look good then we can start looking for something else.

I just did a 5gal water change on my tank. I tested for everything; everything was perfect no amonia, nitrates, nitrites, and ph was at 8.1 and salinity is 1.022. The temperature of the tank is 80.1. Could I have to much light on my tank?

no i don't think it is too much light. do you have anything copper (copper pipes) around the tank??? I know this one guy just kept killing his corals even though his params were in check. Did you acclimate the corals? it also may be you put them to close to the light too fast as well.

umm copper is a good question. I will test for that and get back to you with that. I did acclimate my corals and for the distance from the light, it was far enough away. I did re-aquascape the tank today with a higher ledge for the polyps and leather that wasn't opening. The hammer is closed from being moved which is expected and everything seems to look better.

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l223/bottlecapp09/IMG_5156.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
Alittle picture of the flow in my tank:
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l223/bottlecapp09/IMG_5166.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

Frequent rearranging is also rough on corals. They have to re-acclimate to each new location. If your water parameters are all OK, then just sit tight and be patient.

Just keep an eye open for any obvious irritants. I had a toadstool leather that suddenly wouldn't open. Finally discovered my lawnmower blennie had made it his favorite perch.

I was just watching my tank, and one of my blue legged hermit crabs was onto of the polyps. I also found one of my snails barried in a rock of polyps.

The re-arranged rock looks much much better in my opinion.

How long are the lights on for each day?

How is the fuge looking?

They may just need a few more days to figure out what is going on before opening up... it's hard to say, nothing seems off to me with the info you've given us.

On a side note, and not one you want to hear, I would look into how other reefs with the crushed coral substrate (instead of sand) have turned out. I have no personal experience, however I have read around that they can cause some problems in the long run. This may be an easy time to get some sand in there.

How many hermits do you have? The 3 in my 20 gal seem to think my Zoa colony is a highway. But it opens up again within a minute of their passing. My star Polyp on the other hand will stay closed for nearly an hour after being crawled across.

Phil

I have about 10 hermits in my tank. The refugium is doing very well, I am getting great growth in there and as far as crushed coral goes I havent really heard of anyone having problem with it. If I do decide to change it out how should I go about doing that?

Hey, been following your thread for a while. I like your new aquascaping, kind of reminds me of the "drop off" like in "Finding Nemo", almost like a natural setting. Once all of the coraline and other algaes get growing they will make those rocks blend very nicely.

I had a cleaner shrimp that would irritate my big toadstool. At first he would close for about a day everytime, but now he just accepts the shrimps peskiness.

I may have missed this in the thread, as I skimmed it a bit, but did you add most of the corals at one time? I am not sure if that can have an effect on your bioload as far as your filtration goes. I only add about 1 at a time for 3 reasons: 1. filtration acclimation, 2. thats all I can afford, 3. thats all my girl will let me afford :)

I would agree with everyone else, get your parameters right, do the water change making sure that your temp and salinity are right and just be patient. When you do water changes, do you let it sit for 24 hours with a powerhead? I don't always remember to, but I hear it can help water. Keep up the good work, will be tagging along

What is that little creature I have a bounch of them.

You may appreciate this. Worm Hitch Hikers

I reference it from time to time from all the worms I find in my tank. What I think you have there is the common "bristle worm". There are many types, but few are actually harmful, as far as I know. They are actually good for keeping your substrate mixed up and scavenging the "poo"
:strooper:

Yeh I think you are right, I was told that if you come in contact with that "bristle worm" it is a very painful expierience. They are very neat creatures, actually having that built in refugium I have tons of different bugs in there :) My favorite coral is my fungia, that thing has grew so quickly and eats like a champ.
