I would also be interested in any details you can give if you don't mind. I've read about 25% of the multichip build but would definitely like to skip the rest since your creation is more of what id like to do....would be greatly appreciated!

I guess I worded that wrong. That thread has several people posting who have rather extensive experience with questions like what drivers, how many LED,s recommendations based on tank size etc... I just figured you might get more answers there.

I have some bad news i used that led one my 29 gallon, i also buildt a spectrometer and notised that the led got a realy big spike in the red spektrum. My problem was that the big spike in red light made my acropora turne brown and some almost died. I changed to 3x10w 6500k, 3x10w 455nm and 3x10w 470nm i use the same driver as you. My acroporas colored up and tings starts to looks good. You kan altso get a 100w hybrid led, whit 1/3 20k K and 2/3 455nm. Best of luck

Stu that is a 120 gal tank. I have 2- 14k chips and 3- super actinic hybrid chips 20 watt verity I'm waiting on my 420nm chips to come in. I'm going to swap out the 14k chips
For some 20k chips . 14k chips are a little to yellow orange for me.

I'm not sure that is the issue. If anything, a spike at 660nm is desirable.

yes for corals ,plants/algae clams that lives in the shallows, but corals that live deeper are not made to live whit the red spike. In small amounts, like 3w builds its ok to blend in few red leds in a build whit over 100w, but its just to much light in the spectrum above blue on the 20k K bulbe,

I ordered my self a 10w blue hybrid floodlight for my fuge just to try it out. I am not sure how the color spectrum is gonna work out though.

That is part of my problem, there is no blue to the color. When on as high as the driver will go, it's like the sun. The picture is fairly correct. I have a 12k MH on the right, and while it's not REALLY blue, it's definetly more blue than the 20k LEDs.

So far so good. The light seems to be working just fine. My RBTA is thriving under it and just split in two. I have a few hammer corals under it doing great. It's been a while, but did you end up making something of your own? How's it doing?
