MarineGirl I think your efforts are futile, either he don't know, don't show or don't care about what's goin on in the hood.

dude, one word for ya.... vodka...... .1 ml/20 gal per day to start, n drip it slow....repeat and increase untill green goes away, I recomend skyy, it looks like you have made some progress from your insane hair algea collection!, its time to step it up son, dont ask questions, just do it.
I HAD A VERY BAD ICH OUTBREAK THAT KILLED MY 6" ACHILLES, POWDER BLUE, COPPERBAND, BI COLORED,BABY FRENCH, AND SEVERAL CORALS BECAUSE I WAS DUMB AND TRIED USING REEF SAFE ICH MED. FROM FISH VET(NO ICH) WAIST OF MONEY AND COST ME HUNDREDS IN FISH AND CORALS... ALL FISH THAT MADE IT ARE IN QT'S AND I AM LETTING MY DT BE FISHLESS FOR EIGHT WEEKS...
ok....just read about hypo....and it takes so long....i think i will check into treating with copper....sounds like its faster and less of a pain. IMO
well i post my questions and dont seem to get people who know post any answers.... also i have had a reef tank (125 before this one...90 before that....55 before that) for over ten years and i have had pretty much every coral or fish you could imagine.... so its more of a case where i have forgot more than most know....and just need some refreshing. Also i am not a very patient person.....which i am working on trust me....losing hundreds in fish and corals is helping with that...lol. thanks for the comments...
lol....go get job so you dont have to wait four years to have something in your tank....
here is my two cents on why i had troubles with this tank.... I should have never had three surgeonfish in one tank....i know that was a bad idea but i really want all those fish in one tank and like to try things that not many people can do....thats what gets the hobby further. but it was a mistake not QT them first because i do beleive that that was the only reason i had anything die.... they were stressed and got ich.... and i tried some "reefsafe" ich meds out of pure stupidity....which i know killed the clams and corals....and in turn the fish too since i left them alone hoping that the meds would work like they said.... but i would be willing to bet if i did everything over again and just QTed all the fish and put them in the same order that I did....everything would be doing good. And you may get to see.... because i may even try it again in eight weeks....
maybe you should look a little closer.....has anyone with more experience that what i have actually given me any advice.....or even attempted to answer any questions i have posted. NO! I just get people with little or not experience that have always thought that it takes a long time to have a nice saltwater reef. Well every situation is different and I have enough experience to see that everything was going great until the ich. Which was from my own admition my fault ....so how is that stubborn? Most of the people who post telling me to slow down is because they cant think of any real advice to give and if you look at what they have...maybe a bit jealous? Not saying that there is anything to be jealous of....but i see it all the time someone puts a ton of money into there tank and people with tanks half the size start in on them.....and if they see a coral or fish die....omg...here it comes....and in reality they have probably killed so many animals they could have bought a huge tank....lol. If you have a lot of experience you would know that its not hard to go buy a brand new tank.....and within a day have a beatiful established tank. It would just cost you more money....and that ticks a lot of people who cant do that off.... get over it....do you key peoples nice cars too because you drive a beater!!!!
Tomorrow the most expensive LPS coral on Liveaquaria.com is coming......aussie worm brain....8".
ok...i will take your guys advice and slow down. Also i am investing in a rodi unit....what is a good one!
they just keep coming by the truck loads.... Jealous &%$#ing Morons. Keep checking back on my thread....so you can see how nice my tank is turning out.... Corals growing, new fish coming soon, and all while I keep doing it all wrong....LOL you got it all figured out thats why all my corals are doing well and will continue too. And I love to see that it "gives you hell"
I am going to start planning my 1500gallon...first!
i am going to start investing in more equipment before i put any more live stock in. I need to do some more research on the stuff first though....i dont know much about reactors, controllers, and monitors.....
