210 build PIC INTENSE

Cupramine is good copper product it is ionic copper rather than chelated copper

So it is harder to screw up and easier on the fish while still killing the bad stuff, in this case ich

I would not recommend a DSB in your DT if you want a DSB I recommend a Calfo 5gallon bucket DSB or making a display fuge for it

I have never used anything like a bottle brush...........I mostly use papertowels and vingar baths to clean anything and I use ro/di water for it all...............

Have also used disposable tooth brushes for those hard to reach places

THIS IS AFTER CATCHIN ALL THE FISH THAT DIDNT DIE FROM THE ICH OUTBREAK....AND MOVING THEM INTO QT'S I MIGHT HAVE TO BUY SOME MORE ROCK TO MAKE IT LOOK BETTER...WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Personally I like less rockwork as in this case as it give you plenty of swimming space for your tangs and other fish. Plus it allows for more circulation around your rock.

bsagecko....
the bottle brush is a macro algae....
why no DSB for the DT

macronut...
I would like some more rock to give the fish more hiding spots...last time the tangs seemed to fight over spots at night.

the reason your tangs fought and the reason you had an ich outbreak is
1. you didnt wait nearly long enough to add any of the powder species tangs
2. you put 3 powders in one tank that is just a plain bad idea.
3. also an achiles tang is very very complicated in its first months it takes a lot of care and definately a QT to get them healthy. it doesnt help any for them that there was another powder to beat him up and cause Ich.
I dont mean to sound arragent or rude but this seems to be a common issue that many are repeating and i hate seeing people waste money and fish lose there lives.

nu2reefva....
i know your frustrations but,
my parameters where all good when i added the fish and i waited for the cycling to finish. so that was not the problem....
three powders was definately a problem because they were very stress out and the first ones to show the ich.
and finally the achilles was the last to go in and was the biggest of them all.... and not one fish could or did mess with him/her.

i was looking at my tank and saw the biggest brislte work or fireworm....it look about five inches long and over a 1/4 inch thick. I tried to grab it with a tweezers but the bugger got away...that thing was strong... i will try again if i see it and post pics when i do get it.

ok....here is another question....do blue leg hermits harm small clams....one of mine is completely covered with them...it looks like they are just eating the algae on the shell but i have seen people put clams in cups..is this the reason?

I would like to start by saying you have a beautiful tank and set up. I would eventually like to get something like what you have.

One quick thought I have is you seem to add a lot of stock before researching it. I was out of this hobby for about 10 years and then got back in to it. With my 90g reef I started slow, researched what I wanted and then slowly added stock. I have only lost 2 fish in over a year and it was due to poor health at the time of purchase and the other guy got stuck in a rock.

Even when I add corals now I only do one or two at a time and then let my tank make any necessary adjustments over a few months.

I have about 10 years experience from back in the day with tanks prior to my current 90g reef. I feel you might see more fatalities if you dont slow down a bit. I hate to see money and fish go down the toilet.

I truely admire your setup though!

well i post my questions and dont seem to get people who know post any answers.... also i have had a reef tank (125 before this one...90 before that....55 before that) for over ten years and i have had pretty much every coral or fish you could imagine.... so its more of a case where i have forgot more than most know....and just need some refreshing. Also i am not a very patient person.....which i am working on trust me....losing hundreds in fish and corals is helping with that...lol.
thanks for the comments...

Bad things happen fast. Good things happen slow. Take your time and it will make life easier on you. There is no rush. Looks like your on the right path. Don't forget to quarantine first. Especially with tangs. Good luck.

So...what are you trying to show here. Not enough text for me to understand.

I put some new sand on top of the old stuff....it was a little low in some areas...average is about 1.5" or so now...

the first couple are just pics of the clams and the last two are showing how the crabs are always on them.... is that bad for them?
