Ok i need a recommendation for a single species(probably a single occupant) for a 210g (6x2)with HIGH flow...

one that is not prone to chew on power-head cords

high flow rate is ..8 power-heads 4 are on wave maker..the other 4 may or may-not be put on a second wave-maker..4 power heads @ 1150gph and 4 power-heads @1500gph.

my original plans for this tank changed due to 50% cut in pay from forced job change due to health issue so now iam loooking at plan b,c,d,e,.....x,y,z. Thank you for your suggestions

On topic, wrasse only tank could be pretty cool maybe? idk, depends on your tastes I guess.

Slightly off topic, this kinda threw me, have people actually had experiences with fish chewing power cords? That is crazy.

over the years i have lost a couple powerheads due to puffers/triggers biting the powercord

Id also go grouper for a single specimen. Maybe even a slender grouper depending on the specific species. Since the slenders are much more active swimmers, you need to really look at the specific species you are wanting.

Miniatus groupers (c. Miniatus) are really pretty and a single one would do great in a 200.

C. Formosa is also another beautiful grouper. In a community id say no way for a 200, but as a single specimen it would probably be fine.

C. Argus is another cool species, but I believe they are pretty aggressive when full grown. Like bleeding arm aggressive.

The panther grouper as suggested is also cool.

If you had the money to find a Neptune grouper, that would be a crown jewel.

Other fish:
If you could source a full grown porky puffer, that would be super cool.

The harlequin sweet lips is also a really cool fish, though maybe too small for a single specimen tank.

There are some rays out there such as the blue spot that may work depending on the tank dimensions.

Commersons frog fish, is another large unique fish, though it may be temperate waters only, it shouldn't be an issue as a single species.

There are some bats that might do well in a tank that size as a single specimen. I'm thinking p. teira.

Or chuck it all and go with an eel, specifically I would get Gymnothorax favagineus, my favorite of all eels sold for the hobby.

Hth

thanks for the suggestions..keep them comming, ill research each and every suggestion. the health issue job change forcing tank plan changes only happened late last week so iam just now starting to look into the tank change...haven't even added salt to the water yet so iam a long way from putting ANY wet pet in the tank

for cheap, hardy, and prone to move constantly all day long, get a fair-sized flock of young damsels of varied species. Most max out between 4" and 5" and only a couple get that big, while the rest stay somewhat smaller and move energetically most of the day. In that large a tank, you probably wouldn't see any aggression beyond demonstration.

This damsel is pretty familiar with her damsels.

Vlamingi tangs are properly the most beautiful fish in ocean. When adult however needs a huge tank. Or be like me SHARKS BABY. Marble cat shark would love that tank

You'd have to build some corner inserts to round them off, but other than that not a bad idea.

Edit:
Putting more thought into it, I dunno about putting a 3' shark in a 6' tank. I also don't know how a single clown trigger would do in that size tank either.

I'm going to full on suggest only two from me. Either a miniatus grouper or a tessalata eel. That's my two picks.

Urchins will do it too.
