220/3 skimmer

I have a 55 fish only tank that I am in the process of changing to a reef tank. I am looking at options for a skimmer. This site seems very biased towards remoras; perhaps with good reason. How does the 220/3 work in comparison. I am currently using a CPR BakPak 2R and am not happy with the constant tweaking it takes. Looking at the 220/3, I cannot tell how it mounts. I need a HOB or simular model. It appears that this mounts in the tank or sump? Is this right? Please let me know if this is useful in the main tank or not really designed for that.

I wouldn't use a centrifuge skimmer in a 55, it blocks too much light. I could wholeheartedly recommend a Reefpack as an awesome skimmer/filter/ top off system for in tank but without an auto top off you will be disappointed with our skimmers they demand an exact control of water level.
