225 Tank build thread

Yeah, we told him to put the biggest and quietest fan in the room, it's huge! (yeah I know, "that's what she said" so you don't need to post it.) LOL!

Hey Eric..... Look at what I found :D

Hey, Hey, Hey!!! Those look familiar! Way to go buddy! Looks like we have a new source for eyelet bulkheads!!! HooWoo!

Took some pics last night, nothing fantastic, as my battery was running low and didn't have time to get them dialed in :(

First the fish room with the new ballasts, man these babies are bright! Don't even need a light in the room!

That's it for now...

Thanks Tim, it's amazing how the tank didn't get drowned out even with the flash on, I just can't believe how bright these lights are!

It looks great but having seen it myself it looks way brighter and has a better color in person, you can see the intesity on the sand but it gets lost on the rocks, its brighter than the pics show. I have the same issue, I wish we had a pro photographer in the club! I'd be willing to pay or trade out for a pro that could really capture the true colors.

Do I hear another meeting topic??? :D We all have these kick @ss cameras and none of us know how to use them! LOL!
I think photo boxes help out a lot.

What kind of cameras do you guys have? I've got an Olympus Stylus, and I'm thinking about upgrading to something a little more advanced.

I have a Canon Rebel Xt. A lot of the issue has to do with exposure time. You have the sand very bright (like a beach scene) and if you expose for that, then the rock is too dark and visa versa.

LOL! Yeah it really looks blue in the pics and when you first see it, but then your eyes adjust and I think it's just right. :D

Now if I can just get the Ca levels up... Have the effluent rated at 575ish but the tank is down to 280ppm on the Ca while Alk is solid at 4.5 meq/l Increased the drip rate to about 90/min from 60/min and bubble rate from 45/min to 60/min on Saturday hope that will help. Will the Ca reactor balance the tank solo, or do I need to dose to get the Ca and Alk balanced and then the reactor can maintain?

One of Scott's customers is a pro photographer, maybe he could be coaxed in taking some photos for people.

Chris, the avatar got to go! I almost lost my breakfast.
