Just thought I would share some photo's. Still working on the color enhancement of a few of my SPS's. Oddly enough I turned off my skimmer for a day and already starting see some of the colors bounce back.

Nice colours. What is the fish in the second picture? Heniochus acuminatus? If so, mine started eat my Acropora aspera and eventually had to go.

Very nice tank and your SPS look like they are growing. I see you have leds what make and model are they? The reason I ask is because I too was having problems with my SPS looking bleached or pale until I lowered my intensity from 100% to 60% you maybe giving them too much too long try lowering the intensity for 30 days and see if things change for the better.. Congrats on an amazing set up

Thanks, my set up is actual somewhat of a mix. I am using 2 Radion G3 Pros, 1 BMLED (Atinic), 1 Reefbrite XHO (Atinic), 2 T5 (ATI Blue). I have been running my G3 Pros at 50%. However I believe I had them to close to the surface (12 inches) so I raised everything a few inches and everythings seems to be bouncing back a little better.

Do you have your lighting arranged above the tank? pics?

very nice! you said you turned off your skimmer and saw an improvement in colours.. are you following your nutrient levels? n and p?

Yes, not the best photo but sorta gives you an idea. I had custom made the frame for the lighting. Also, heres a photo of my filter room for SA.

Not to much any more, I test about once quarterly as my results are always around the same parameters. I keep up a pretty standard routine with my water changes, filter socks and cleaning etc...

I am sorry to hear that.

Have you noticed any significant changes in polyp expansion of your corals since you stopped your skimmer?
Havent really noticed but watch it closer next time I have to shut it down. I had mainly shut off the skimmer for 48 hrs because I was treating the tank with chemclean to kill a small amount blue/green cyano I had been fighting. Problem has been solved. I have to admit, that stuff works like a champ and had no ill effect on any of my inhabitants. However oddly enough, everytime I turn off my skimmer It seems that I notice that corals seem to color up a little better. Could be that my skimmer is overskimming and strips the water of just about everthing, to include some essential elements.

do you dose two part and run a calcium reactor?

That was sort of an experiment, I was trying both. What I have noticed is that when I use a calcium reactor and just kalkwasser it seems that I get a little less coraline growth.

Now I have stopped the two part and I am mainly using the calcium reactor and Kalkwasser for top off and just dosing Strontium, Iodine, Magnisium and Acropower.
