230 Ohio reef tank

There was a good place in Troy called Aquatic Specialist and a really good one in Waynesville in some dudes barn called Marine Solutions.

I'm from Kettering and I always go to Gerber's Saltwater Warehouse in Moraine. I don't know if any of you have ever been there, it looks a little shady, but it's the best selection I've seen anywhere close. Next best thing I've ever found is Aquarium Adventures in Columbus, but I'm not terribly fond of the place. Nice to see some other reefers in the Dayton area! Great looking build btw! I'm just starting on a 220 gal build that has me ready to pull my hair out, but I'm excited for it. It's been sitting in my living room with nothing done to it because I'm still trying to decide on drilling or not lol.

reefsystems in new albany, and phishybusiness in columbus. reefsystems is the best place ive ever seen he has a actual coral farm and grows out alot of his corals! in a large glass greenhouse

Awesome! Sounds like there are quite a few options. Thanks all for keeping me posted on the places to check out. Will be checking them out this weekend.

I really like all of these built-in the wall systems. When I build my new house it is going to get expensive because I want a system in each room!

Nice looking tank!
Join up with the local group posted, I am sure you will find several with SPS frags you can get a great pricing. Coral Cove in Englewood, Reefsytems in Columbus, and Ideal Aquatics in Cincinnati are were most around Dayton shop.

If you like visitors I will have to try and get out to see this setup in person sometime.

Fellow reefers are welcome. Could always use some additional thoughts to help do some outside the box thinking on the set up before I get to far. Go ahead send me a private message and will set something up.

Where is reefsystems? My parents still live in NA and I'd like to check it out when I get home for Christmas this year.

Really excited, my new main pump comes in this Monday.

Talked with Reeflo and ended up going with the Reeflo Hammerhead Hybrid. Will be a little overkill, but should be able to use it to plumb in to some of the other equipment (CA reactor, bio pellet reactor and ocean motions switch) and will hopefully help cut down on additional pumps/heat in my sump area.

Very nice to see fellow Ohioans.

And great looking basement, awesome job.
I am looking forward to seeing the finished tank. I always wanted to do one like this flush mounted in a wall.

My pump finally came in. Its HUGE!!! I didnt realize how big the pump was. Looks much smaller in the pictures on the internet. Will be working on the plumbing this weekend. Will post some pictures when complete. Have to drill an additional hole in the sump to support the pump intake. If there are any local reef peeps in the area interested in helping out. Please send me a message.

I know this is out of sequence, but wanted to attach some more before and after photos. Planning on hooking up the main pump and plumbing today.
