Try "Honey, The animals in the tank are so crowded they will become unhealthy. I have to get a larger space for them before they get sick". Then tell her you are taking her to dinner at her choice of place. :) Once there and she's eating her favorite meal and enjoying her favorite adult beverage you can implant the thought much easier in her mind.

As for Coraline, I use 0 TDS RO/DI water and I dose with Ocean's Blend Part 1 & 2. Mine is starting to grow in my new 75G already.

Bad idea Keri, with that plan my wife would know somethings up. I've been with my wife 12 years, what I'm fixin to tell you, I can say, because my wife doesn't go on the forums. Here's what you do Tom. Everyday pour some water on the carpet behind the tank or under the stand, not a lot, but enough to be noticed. Do this everyday, after a week or two increase the spillage. During this time you need to be looking for a "LEAK". You also need to raise the concern level that the tank "MAY BE LEAKING ON A SEAM", on the bottom. It's like fishing in a stocked pond. Once she's hooked, reel her in. Honey, I think "WE" need to replace the tank before it comes apart, floods the house & we lose everthing in the tank. Then you get the tank you want & tell her what a great deal it was & you couldn't pass it up. There may be a bonus here if that plan works. Sell the "leaking" tank, use the money to get more stuff. When questioned about the sale of tank, you respond with," I sold it to a guy that has a lizard"

Its simple mind bending. In the mind of women there is a series of pictures. Like hollywood squares if you will the top row is her favorite things, Husband, kids, favorite foods, the sunshine, and flowers. As you move down the rows you get to the bottom which are things that disgust her. Mean people, that guy who cut her off, the price of gas, war, The cost of a new tank ect. Heres where the challenge comes. By power of suggestion you simply swap those pictures in her mind one row at a time. For example you use the phrase "Wouldnt it be nice". Then she starts to think about the possibilites. Then reinforce the last phrase with a moment she can relate too that was pleasant to connect that thought to a positive thus moving the tank up one row at a time til its in its happy place at the top. Let me demonstrate. "Wouldnt it be nice if we could have a bigger tank so we could both enjoy looking at it even more?" Then let her answer... yes, no doesnt matter her answer. Your next sentence should be " Remember that time when we were sititng on the beach together holding hands watching the sun go down? , That was great.?" You see the connection here. Positve to a positve equals a? Pos. If you want to go deeper into her mind, as you say the last reinforcer, Take her hand and give it a gentle squeeze. This is as I refer to it a Povlov reinforcement. The gentle squeeze should be used everytime you say something nice to her and get a smile. give her hand slight squeeze.. Later on down the road you have attatched that squeeze to positive reinforcement to your suggetions she will find it hard to say no to what you ask and not even know why. Just like the dog that hears the bell ring its all the same principles. Trust me it works. I got my Harley this way and um..plenty of... Well thats not for RC but you get my drift.... Good luck.

Heh...I know what you mean... I've been told I can't upgrade til we get new furniture in the living room....and a new bedroom set.

Although since when we get new living room furniture, we were planning on re-locating the fish tank to the den...I think I might be able to convince my significant other to let me do a tank upgrade then ;) since there is no point in moving the tank..then upgrading a few months later...heh.

What kind of HD do you have? I have a 2001 Dyna II limited edition. Red with gold flames, tan Ostrich seat
Roadking Police bike I converted. Sat in a guys barn for 3 years and rusted up. I tore it down to bare frame powdercoated it and replaced all the chrome, Put a screamin eagle kit stage 1 and some true duals, Burly beach bars, chromed inner primary and a Corbin on it painted the rest Metalic silver and rebuilt the saddle bags with new lids and hardware to get rid of the hockey pucks. pretty much just used the motor as is and everything else got replaced or re-vamped back to new. Got a h.p. clutch, S.E. chip, she moves out nice now for an EVO.

do you have a pic of your bike? I love the roadking.

This is how I got my 210 in the living room. I bought it and told her a day before that the living room will be a mess for a day or two and it would be best to make plans with friends and have fun somewhere else while I moved the new tank in.

The way I see it, the first time you start asking for permission on anything you become less of a man. Once you make the first mistake you will need approval from her on everything because she will start to expect it. Keep a separate bank account to fund your toys and hobbies. Now if you both live on the same checking account then thats a different story.

Tomorrow I am bringing my new 17' trailer home and she has no clue I bought one. It will be taking up most of our driveway too. A few months from now I am using that trailer to bring home several classic coke vending machines and I have no clue where they are going to be stored.

sea devil, "supm" not sure what that means.

Pelagicmagic, I dont have a pic of the bike at hand I can pop it in later on tonight. You and I think alike, I pretty much did the same scenario with my first tank. I waited til my wife had friends in on vacation coming over to visit. They went off to hang out and be women. When they got home later that night I had my tank set uplights on and damsels swimming around lol. She was flabbergasted. I sat smug in my easy chair sipping a cold one waitng for the onslaught to begin. I always say its better to ask for forgivness than permission. Besides I dont squat to P*** eithier. Wait til I drag home my new stand for my 290 lol.. Shes has no idea what Im contemplating half the time she sees a screw driver laying out she breaks out in hives.
Side note, the seperate bank account thing, i had a friend who hid cash from his wife in a tool box in his garageas what he deemed ballet money. Thats T*tty bar for the common folk. Well he'd play the pools at work and get lucky here and there managed to get a few grand in the kitty for the boys night out saved up in his little tool box. He kept a small pad lock on it and she was none the wiser. Well one day she decided to have herself a garage sale and sold his little tool box for $3. SHe made just under $100 in the whole garage sale and he couldnt say a word. Came to work the next day couldnt speak to him he was so wound up about it. LOL....

supm is short for sent you a pm (private message)

thats a funny story. someone had a great day after that garage sale.

The way I see it, she buys shoes every other day and probably has a collection worth much more than my tank. I don't do anything but the tank, coke machines and go fishing. I don't gamble, goto bars, or spend lots of money on booze, or other junk. My hobby is nothing compared to her shopping bills

Im all ears. If your in the state and the price is right It might be worth it. I just ordered steel for a custom stand but nothing I cant modify quickly to match a differnt size. I drive a F150 4x4 so transport is easy. Is it glass or acrylic? drilled not drilled? Giv eme the skinny and we can talk or PM me with the details. Im in the market now. Least the wife knows anyhow lol.

Now see you boys may be in for a rude awakening.. When I sold cars for a few years, there is a common wisdom, saying or whatever in the business. "women controle 90% of the money and 100% of the nookie", I believe no translation necessary. I buy stuff all the time that the wife has no clue about untill it gets here, but on large bulky things that will be a centerpiece of the home decor, she has the final approval.

Now vehicles, that is my say so. Basically my car is mine and mine alone, while her car is community property :) What I am not telling you is I buy stick shifts because she doesn't know how to drive one.
