230Vac 50Hz to 220Vac 60Hz?????

Hi,

I bought a Nano reefpack and a TURBELLE stream when I was in Germany. Now I live in Brazil and here the power supply is at 220Vac 60Hz. I would like to know if I can use both Tunze equipments without any energy transformation. The TURBELLE I have is 230Vac 50Hz, the Nano reffpack I don’t realy know if it is only 230Vac 50Hz or both 230Vac 50Hz and 127Vac 60Hz, neither the manual nor the equipment are clear about this.

It will not work, the Hz are critical to the pump function and it will burn out in some time at 60Hz. The only option is a 115V 60Hz pump and a transformer.

So both equipments will not work? Can I buy only the pump for the reffpack? This trasformer you sad is for the stream right.

What model Stream is it? For the Reefpack you need to buy the US version of the pump and run a step down transformer from 220V to 120V.

It is a Turbelle stream 6000. I was thinking I could use a transformer to convert the 220Vac 60Hz to a 12v DC and them convert the 12v to 230Vac 50Hz. So I would not need to replace both the pump and the stream transformer.

The 6000 could work with only a plug adapter. It will have a little more power as the 60Hz version is normally 11V instead of 12V. The Reefpack pump though will have to be changed, you could try a 60Hz impeller only and I could ask and see if they have any experience with this. Sometimes that is enough for the pump to work, depending on the design of the coil.

The Reefpack have 2 plugs, both are pumps?

Yes, both will need to have new pumps or impellers, I will try to call the factory early next week for an answer.
