Hi All,

I'm in the planning stages and like the looks of the square tank. What do you think about a glass box that is 24inch on all sides? A cube nano on steriods ... about 60gal.

A sump, refugium, protein skimmer etc would be built into the stand.

Other than being limited to fish that don't need much swimming space, any other pros or cons?

I like cube too, and if I have lots of money and space to spare 2'x2'x2' is what I personally will do. But IMO it will be more like a reef tank than a fish tank, 2' is kinda short for most fishes.

That is a fairly common tank size now. Most of the glass and acrylic manufactures stock them. IMO they are very clean looking and make aquascaping a reef a breeze. I basically have two put together (48x24x24) and I love the depth.

I guessed you were an engineer or something to that effect lol. Love the title name. I think it would be a really neat sized tank with a lot of fun possiblities. I don't really see any cons, except maybe having really limited space underneath the stand.

Thank you All,

The main reason is I like the tank depth and I want to keep ongoing operating costs to a minimum, a single MH light or some T5s.

Ivreefer, I like that 120 you have, it has good proportions.
