Hey guys, I am returning after an extended break to start a new mixed reef. Since I am planning on having a few nice sps and they are the most be demanding I thought I would run this tank option by you guys.

I have always liked the cubish/rimless look and I want at least 40g. capacity but no more than 75g. and this tank meets my requirements.

I am starting from scratch so I will order everything to work with which ever tank/size I choose.

What do you guys think? Any other tanks I should look at? Any problems you see with this set-up?

Thanks!

24" deep/ wide is good I personally think 24" long is limiting to what scales you can do. Just get the tank you will not grow out of sooner that later. It costs to much to start from scratch and one year down the road want to upgrade.

The 60 cube is a nice tank. More bang for the buck than a 55 or 75. The only thing I do not like about mine is the limited options for sumps if you go with a standard stand. I got a custom sump built for mine since I could not get a standard tank to work. Mine is in a corner with a corner overflow. It is a nice look.

As long as you weren't planning on having too many fish in there, it's a glorious tank. If you want more active fish, a longer 65 rimless or something similar would be a better choice.

Beautiful tank Wazzel and what very much the look I am going for! What brand tank is that?

Very few fish, only enough to keep my wife from complaining!:lolspin:

I understand the limitations of a cube with a 24" footprint and are willing to work with in them. I am an older hobbyist and have always had long narrow tanks, at one time that was the in thing! :lmao:LOL I really like the cube look!

Any other rimless cubes I should consider over the Cad Versa 60g.? Does not have to be 60g. but at least 20"+. I started out looking at the Red Sea Reefer 170

http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/reefer-170-by-red-sea-43-gallon.aspx

But it is backordered and does not seem to be as good a value as some other tanks such as the Cad Versa 60g.

Any other tanks I should consider?

It is a marine land. Just an off the shef tank you can get from and pet store that sells them. You can have more fish if you keep to the small ones. I have 7 in my tank.

I kinda want one now. The black would match my living-room more, plus rimless is always sexy.

I definitely can't complain about the 2ft cube size! I've had mine running over two years now with a restart at the beginning of the year. It is a little space restricted but with a little thought towards growth and placement it's a great size to run! The cube tanks always look awesome too :D

I am stressing over which tank to get!!!

My lfs sells Deep Blue, good tank?

I really don't like the idea of ordering something like a tank online, shipping would seem difficult!
