240+g tank project

Yes. I used one bag for the entire tank the first time, and the second time I used one bag just for just the front. There is no sand under the rock work or the sides.

How are you keeping the sand from blowing in under the rocks and to the back of the tank?

Some sand might be blowing under the rocks, but I can view my tank from all for sides and watch where the flow takes everything. I can also aim the outputs to my closed loop in a direction to keep the sand from creating bare spots in the front.

Hi ,
I dont think ive ever posted on RC before - really just used it for reference and drooling over other peoples tanks.

Now I dont want to detract from anyone else but I have to say this is the most beautiful tank ive seen. I love the way it was aquascaped from the start with room for the limited number of colonies to grow into large mature specimens. I far prefer this to the more common multitude of smaller specimens look . This tank inspires me and I only hope to have something approaching yours some day.

Thank you very much, and let me be the first to say [welcome]

If you ever need advice, please don't hesitate to ask.

Any updates since the mishap ?? I know you made a few diff changes and just wondering how those are worked out...

The tanks doing fine. Switched to two 500w heaters for my primary, and two 350w heaters for my back up. Not running ozone anymore, because my system was fine without it. The corals that survived are doing great and the one 1000w light is working perfect.
Thank you shullat, I still am just keeping a few colonies so they can grow big and I'm looking for some colonies that will grow more vertically than horizontally.

Thanks for the kind words. I did have to tear that tank down due to moving and building a new house, but I will start posting about the new system in this thread as time allows.

Love the milli Chris. BTW, thanks for the tip on the light rail. Stanley discontinue most of the product but i found something similar made by different company but cost 4 x more :D

Those doors are awesome Chris.

What would it take to get you to finish mine for me, I've only been working on it for a year...

Thanks Steve, I'm glad you got it worked out.

If you only lived closer Treg:)

With some accurate measurements though, I'm sure I could come up with something.
