240+g tank project

I put them on the back sides of the tank aimed at each other. This eliminated the dead spots I was getting in the back corners and along the back. I've seen a big improvement in the corals that are in the back of the tank.

I've been following your thread Chris. Your tank is awesome. I was considering moving to a 72x30" 225 next year but your tank has me wondering if a 48"x48" wouldn't be more fun.

Anyway, have you got any new full tank shots?

Cheers,
Waxx

I love the dimensions of the 225 you are thinking about. My corals are really outgrowing this tank already so I would love to have a 6' or 8' tank. I think my next tank will be 96-120"X48"X36" if we build a new house.
You can see a full tank shot in the October issues of Reefkeeping Magazine:)

Chris,
I hope you don't mind, but I used a full tank shot of your tank on a thread that I started in the SPS forum. I hope that you can contribute.

Nice thread. Ive been talking to a local acrylic tank builder about this size of tank. Dimensions are awesome. Any updated pics? Later Ryan

I got to see a TOTM in person! I feel like a celebirty (or at least one of the guys in the entourage of the celebirty  ).

An amazing tank, congrats on the great honor Chris!

I can't wait to see what pictures were picked.

I must say the growth of the corals between photo shoots is amazing. What is the time span Chris? 3-4 months? I'll put together an animated gif of the growth sequence.

Thanks everyone, I'm pretty geeked about it. Jason, the animated gif would be awesome!!! Thanks again for taking the photo's.

Here you go Chris... some amazing growth! (I sacrificed image quality for animation)

Yes, the sand was moving around so much that I decided to take it out. I didn't like the look without the sand so I added 2 or 3X the original amount and it seems to be working out now. I like the sand because it gives a tank a more natural look, and it helps reflect the light back up. You can also see the green birdsnest is gone now. It was getting too much flow and I didn't have anywhere else to put it in the tank.

You don't hear that too often!

Beautiful tank, can't wait until they update TOTM. I can't believe you have a Dart with a needle wheel, that is AWESOME!
