Awright: I don't think it would be too large, just not required. Saturation is going to be based on the flow rate through the reactor, the strength and duration of the mixing device as well as the quantity of calcium hydroxide added. All of those could be adjusted to ensure proper saturation with any size other than one designed way too small.

Both reactors are better suited with taller, narrower cylinders to function optimally. Again, you could use them but it wouldn't be ideal.
