Lunchbucket: Yes, three but the orange guy is just hanging out on vacation from a fellow club member's tank while some Harlequin Shrimp attempt to alleviate his Asterina population.

Awright: I don't think it would be too large, just not required. Saturation is going to be based on the flow rate through the reactor, the strength and duration of the mixing device as well as the quantity of calcium hydroxide added. All of those could be adjusted to ensure proper saturation with any size other than one designed way too small.

Awright: You could use those for either reactor but you may be better to save them for a skimmer or two. The reason I suggest this is due to the 12" length of each. Both reactors are better suited with taller, narrower cylinders to function optimally. Again, you could use them but it wouldn't be ideal.
NexDog: As far as I am aware, my site has been up during this time. I just checked it again and it is in fact up. I'm not sure what's up with that.

I think I will try to get 4 or 6" for the reactors. Save the 8" for a skimmer.
I know you do allot of acrylic bonding. One more question, will weld-on #3 or #16 bond polycarbonate to acrylic?

Do you have any experience bonding acrylic to solid surface countertop materials like Corian?
Also is there a way to tell the difference between cast cell and extruded by the appearance?

Steve: No, I haven't bonded those together but I am sure there is some type of adhesive out there that would work. The only issue I could foresee is the difference in hardness.
Cast acrylic and extruded are fairly easy to tell apart. Cast typically has a surface not unlike glass and extruded has extruded ridges from the manufacturing process. Think pasta from a pasta maker and you get the picture.

I read this entire thread last night and have learned so much from your hard work! David: Congrats on the tank cycling stage. You are well on your way now to some exciting times. Thanks very much for the kind words and it pleases me that you were able to enjoy the read. As far as the camera, it's typically my Canon Digital Rebel with the 100 mm macro lens but... some of the recent shots were taken with a buddies 20D and the same lens. He was kind enough to let me "try it out" and I will say that if for nothing else, it's nicer for just the better controls and layout. I'm not sure if I could see any resolution improvement from the additional 2 mega-pixels but it too took some phenomenal images.
