240g lee mar in-wall commences!

There is an 1100cfm attic fan venting the garage when the ac is in use, temps on the tank only get as high as 81F running a fish room temp of 80F with ac, while humidity hovers around 25%-45%.

Here is a shot of the fan:

I have been following this thread since the beginning, i always wanted a similar set up. I've got my chance now, getting ready to finish my basement and im going to do an in wall set up.(inspired by you). 150g with 75g sump On the front of your stand, was that 4x4's for the posts and the cross beam at the top? what about the sides and the back 2x4's or 4x4's? Im guessing you went with pressure treated lumber, what did you coat them with?

Good luck with the build! Feel free to pm me with a link to your thread or post it here:)
The front of the tank sits on the actual "wall" that was left once the opening was framed in. I used a double 2x4 top plate here. The sides were 4x4's pocket screwed in on three sides to the front plate and everything was tied together with the 3/4" plywood top. I did not use pressure treated lumber but did apply 3 coats of Kilz to everything.
Let me know if this makes sense.

Forgot to add that there are 2x4 cross supports spaced 18" apart spanning the length of the stand.
Happy Reefing!

I have released new livestock to the display and hope to get some pics up soon, I'm nearing my full stock list so I believe 1 or 2 more rounds of QT and I'll move on to corals. Can't wait!

WooHoo!

I've been a quiet follower of your thread. Glad to see you are back on the wagon and restocking another nigricans!

I'm glad you chimed in:)
A.nigricans is undoubtedly one of my favorite fish...I acquired this specimen from a less reliable LFS but I've had success so far. Even the mild case of HLLE that developed suddenly after running carbon and beginning copper (not sure which was the cause) he has recovered 100% after being moved to the display:bounce3: The multicolor suffered the same fate and is recovering as well!

Very nice looking tank / coming along nicely.
BTW I think I saw you at CFM/ I don't know you but I thought you looked familiar.

Thanks for the kind words...and for checking in!
I was at CFM!!!:D Were you a vendor there? Man you must have a photographic memory!

Those pics look much better then I thought they would. I think is because they are much more small on my phone. I need to check on a large screen and see how blury they are.
