240g RR build thread

Finally, I made the disk and I gave them to the Wacko Wife for you Shag! An ordeal to be sure but I shall leave it at that. Was fun watching all of you getting riled up over a new tank, and to be honest I quite enjoyed it myself! What WAS the Wacko doing with that camera Shag??? hmmm... Anyhow, we all know Rich1972 does not actually do any of the work so I took a shot of him with the hammer to make MY night smoother..get it boys?
By the way, Shag the tank is absolutely awesome!!!! I look forward to many smoke breaks over there for sure...that is if I am welcome in the tank room anymore??? I promise to always use better judgement when removing clothes for a picture... Love to the neighbors!

man I wouldn't leave the hammer lying around anymore. Especially when you guys get a drinkin to much.

That's the one and I beleave ONLY tool that Lonnie has that is actually his, I'm not sure why he brought it over cause I've got one. But that is if it's not at his house on the "borrowed tool shelf" of his.

UPDATE:

Ok my order from savco arrived today and so did the new RO/DI unit. And I went to lowes and thought I bought all the plumbing I needed :lol2: I like how I thought I was going to only make one trip  Cause I forgot ALL of the 1 inch pipe and 1 inch fittings that I still need. But for now here are the pics of what I did get.

Tank drains into 2 inch pipes that drain into a 4 inch pipe that drains into the sump. Return line off the pump is a 2 inch pipe that converts into 4 one inch pipes.

Yes I might be a bit to prode of the fact. But hey it's why I am where I am today. These are the people who helped me along so call me a nerd. Last to picks are my way of saying thank you even if it makes me a geeky nerd.

I have about 90% of the pipe cut and in place. Now we need to glue it all. Talk about pipe going everywhere. :eek1: But it should work great once it is done, and look nice as well.

I got about 80% of the return lines glued tonight. Hoping to have the rest of it glued by the end of the weekend. Then we will start on the canopy. :D Not this weekend but the next weekend I think he plans on adding water.

Wow, loving the fact of you boys laying pipe together...so typical. That is all it seems ya'all ever get together to do anymore...lay more pipes.

Ahh, more pics will come after frag swap. I don't have time right now. But we've got all the plumbing done other than cutting the hole in the sump and running the return pipe to the pump. Everything else is plumbed.

What? I spend all day there Sunday so you can do a fresh water test, and no pic's yet??

Had one leak that needs some more thread tape. Once he hits that should be good to go.

No micro bubbles at all.

Really loud at first but after some tweaking we quieted it down a lot. Still have some playing to do to see if we can get it a little quieter.. 3600 gph is quite the flow. Also hoping when we had the canopy, and hook up the skimmer, that those two will help filter the noise a little better.
