i'll be getting a 24g pod today online. is there anything else i should order. im not sure if the 290gph pump will be enough. is there anything i should put in the back chambers like carbon and such? should i get one of those hydor flows? i really don't want to drill the tank for another powerhead, any way i could add another without putting it into the main tank and without drilling?

in my chambers i have:

1st- 1 sponge and a bag of Chemi-pure.
2nd- a bunch of live rock rubble.
3rd- larger return pump.

I am using a Maxijet 900 in my 12 g as my return, but in your 24 you could definitely go bigger. A hydor isnt a bad idea on your return.

if you wanted additional flow w/o drilling you can always add a maxijet, minijet, or tunze mini into the display area of your tank.

I have a Maxijet 900 for my return, a Epik 300 for heat and water movement in the tank and a Maxijet 600 in the display as well.

Since there are only 2 comparments in the rear of the 24, I have the following:

compartment 1: LR rubble in a net, 2 pieces of stock sponge cut into smaller squares and 2 inches of LS
compartment 2: LR rubble, 2 pieces of stock sponge

not much else to do if you don't plan on modding anything but this works for me.

not yet, still considering what I should do as far as lighting. I may cut the black film off compartment 1 and place a clip light on it to control my heat or I find something that I can mount inside the hood.

im considering a skimmer, i don't think the fission skimmer is worth it, any other DECENT skimmers that would fit inside the compartment?, or should i just stick with weekely 2 gallon w/cs?

I'm a skimmer fan, I've done 3 nanos and 2 large systems and I've always had skimmers but after getting the Pod, I realized that outside of building a skimmer you're probably better off just doing water changes. Now this opinion may change but definitely now a fan of the Fission, it's a skimmer that works only if you keep the water levels exact and I really didn't get this system so that I would have to do soo much modding. I'm sticking with water changes, if anything comes up, i'll post and share.

I have the 24 Pod and I tossed the OEm fan and installed 2-thermo fans, CA 1400 return pump w/hydro wheel removed bio balls and ceramics. I left the sponge in added a heater and filled all other areas with rubble.
