250 gallon living room attraction

Could use some advice on flow... I have several options available and what I'm settled on for the initial setup is this.

I have a pair of 1" outlets for the return line, each running through MOcean wavemakers at the far end of the tank (opposite the overflow). I've placed an MP60 along the back wall about halfway up the tank and a few feet from the outlets. Finally, I have a Gyre 150 positioned vertically beneath the overflow in the rear corner of the tank.

I'm planning two cascading sets of rockwork. One beginning from the overflow (to hide the nasty white buildup between the overflow and tank glass - original builders did a crap job sealing the top of that section is my best guess on what happened there). The second will start somewhere in the middle of the tank and run down towards the other end.

Will this be good flow? I could add a 2nd MP60 similarly positioned horizontally as the first a few feet further in towards the overflow. However, I think this may interact strangely with the Gyre. Here's a photo down the length of the tank to get perspective on my dilemma.

Darn - I'm viewing incognito w/Chrome and I see all others but the 2nd to last one (that one shows up with a (-)).

Here are some via attachments. Let's see how that works...

Can you post some pics of the overflow itself, I have a 180 that I want to do a peninsula with, trying to see how it is done...

Of course. Have a look at this shot. If you want something from another angle or closer up I can do that as well - just not tonight ;P

Starting to fill it. Obligatory minor freak out - tank has settled a bit and is out of level by a hair. Anyone have experience with this? IS THIS A SHOW STOPPER?

It can be. Determine the reason for the "settling." If the potential is there for further movement you should stop now, go back and resolve the problem before you put too much stress on the tank and have a small problem become a very big one.

Leveling all done, tank is full of salty H2O, and aquascaping is under way.

Speaking of the 'scape... comments? I'm trying to keep a good amount of negative space at the substrate level since I have these great large pieces of LR to work with. Thinking of spinning around the left side to slope backwards as opposed to towards the front.

BAH - Looks like Google photos is no longer allowing sharing the links. FFS. Guess I'll just upload the old-fashioned way. Not as clean. Boo. Too late to futz with things now. I rearranged the left side a bit anyway so need new/better shots. More tomorrow!

Thanks! Attached some updated shots. I swung the left side around to allow for more sticks up front. Still needs some tweaks but feeling pretty good about it.

Now, plumbing. Gotta head over to the Beananimal thread to double-check on the position of the siphon valve. I believe it's better to be down by the sump in a basement setup.

Next, working out which fish will be the guinea pigs. I'm thinking of my "pair" of Spotcinctus clowns that are currently in separate apartments. Substrate and rocks have been in the tank for about 3 weeks now so I'll see how the cycle's going prior to fish. Shouldn't be too much longer as the rock's been cooking in the basement for months now (with fish in the sump).

... back to plumbing!

Update: Let there be light!!

Got all 4 Radion XR30W Pro units hooked up and controlled via WXM. Grabbed what I think is a good baseline starter program from the forums here and we'll see how it goes.

... back to plumbing!
