250 Gallon Starphire SPS tank

Bacterial bloom seems to be subsiding, water is about as clear as most tanks are w/o ozone, hopefully by tonight it will be crystal clear again.

Some SPS look a little pale, but still no casualties.;)

I think I may still have a week or two of uncertainty as the system restablizes. I am still cleaning the skimmer daily and getting a min of 7 gallons of skimmate per day. I am still running as much carbon as is possible with the amount of carbon socks I have, ozone still at 100% ORP climbing to 343 today.

Some polyps look a little retracted, some I don't see at all during the day, but come out at night.

Still not out of the woods, but getting there.

Skimmer working great, corals still look OK, I am unsure of a couple, but feel that they will make it.

Water is crystal clear now!:D

ORP at 374

A few more cool shots.

Phweew! Glad things are going to work out for your setup in the end.

Are all the fish doing alright too?

The zoos killed my nice purple cap.

I had this cap for 2 years and it bleached a little, then did nothing. About 8 months ago it started to grow a bit and turn light purple! It was groeing nicely and looked pretty cool until the zoos came.

Ben,
If you've got extra pieces I'd be interested in a frag...
Let me know if you're interested in some Galaxia; I'm going to be fragging it soon.

Tyler

I noticed you said 7 gallons of skimmate each date. That is quite a bit of salt being removed from the system on a daily basis. What is your solution to keeping your salinity from jumping around?

Super nice pics as well !

I have got a couple of really small pieces of it, I don't know if they will take or not though, they don't seem to have any whole polyps.:(

I will get one for you someday.;)

I just add 7 gallons of new salt water, kind like doing a mini water change each day.

All corals are showing good polyp extension now and I am starting to see some new growth.

It looks like all survived the kalk retardation!

LittleBlueGT- hey man, I saw your thread on the Winnipegfishforum. I'm wondering, where did you get your calcium reactor? Did Jayson hook you up with that? If so, was it expensive?

Yes got it from SWC

I believe it was 240 for the reactor about 2 years ago. Then another 100 for the extension. The CO2 bubble counter was about $129.

You should come over sometime, maybe we can trade some frags!

I would love to see your tank! I would also like to trade some frags but as I have only been up and running for 3 months, I have no frags ... :(

I still need to get my MH lighting ect so I have a ways to go.

The bad news is all over.

I am officially saying that my kalk accident resulted in no casualties!:D

My last two corals that had reduced polyp extension now look as good as ever!

80% of my corals are showing signs of growth since the incident, and are almost all back to their original color!

All my frags are growing good as well (starting to crowd each other) so if anybody wants some let me know!
