250 PFO ballast question...

I bought a used 2X250/VHO PFO fixture off an LFS that is always good.

I just want to make sure, do PFO ballasts usually hum like this?

I just want to make sure it is normal because I have only had electronic ballats before.

Are PFO's better than electronic?

I think PFO's are hqi, which is like an 'over-drive' type of ballast. It will burn a bulb brighter then normal, but also burn it out quicker. 8 months vs a year...

I am not sure if it is electronic or not, that would fall into the technical response req'd.

I have heard that pfo is a good brand too.

In fact, I have one that I was going to use, but changed my mind. (in case someone is interested: a dual 400 watt ballast with lamp cords, $110)
