aquaconnect 14k is basically the same as the phoenix... a little pricey but burns the same

I ran Aquaconnects once upon a time. Considering the price, they are not phoenix's. ;)

Funny how these posts were so close together...

The DE AC's and Phoenix are practically the same bulb...

The SE version AC is a tad different, and not as spectacular as the 400W AC, but very nice. If you are a big fan of the DE Phoenix and looking for something very close in SE, the AC is the ticket...

yeah i posted that in response to the other quoted post... the 250wAC14kSE is a tad different than the 250wP14kDE but it's as close as you can get when comparing across different bulb formats... 400w anything is going to be in a different league than either of these two bulbs :)

considering the price, you're right but if you want a bulb that compares in output and color to the P14kDE but need a SE bulb thats the only choice youve got... pay to play unfortunately

20K has a better growth than 14k
This in incorrect 14ks give better growth, 20ks give better color. The 20ks have a lower par than 14ks. Corals growth faster with higher par lights.
As for the bulb question the Hamiltons are great bulbs as are XMs and Radiums.
