250W HQI Pendant

I have a 40gal tall currently with a DIY 175MH 10K Ushio. I am wondering if a 250w HQI Pendant would work inside the canopy without major heat problems. Of course I would implement two 3" fans on both sides of tank for plenty of air flow. If someone sees that this would not work, please let me know and why.
Also is this a good choice for both leathers and zoa's...I know it is for hard corals.
